Mowgli
Mowgli is the newest member of our family. He joined the family Monday December 22, 2003. He is a beautiful 5 year old MinPin. Mowgli was adopted through the Internet Miniature Pinscher Service , a nation wide rescue group for minpins. If you are looking to get a MinPin I would highly recommend them.
Mowgli was in a foster home in Santa Cruz, CA, which is about a 3 and a half hour drive from here. It was a task arranging times and kid-sitters and such to be able to take the day to go get him, but he has proved it well worth it. He did wonderfull on the drive home. He responded great to the kids as soon as he saw them. He was a little anxious at first, but for just having his whole life changed around he did very well. A lot better than I would do, thats for sure. We had *no* potty accidents at all for the first week and a half of him being home. His first accident wasn't really an accident. I had been putting him in his kennel when I left the house and I decided to try to just leave him in the bedroom, give him some room to play and such, well, he got mad at me for leaving him, and pee'd on the middle of my bed. Lovely thing to come home to, especially when I didnt notice it untill I went to get into my bed. So... he goes back in his kennel when I have to leave him home.
We are having some issues with seperation anxiety, he likes to bark continiously while I'm gone. Which is rather odd, as he hardly barks at all when I'm home. He also doesn't seem to know any commands except 'No'. We are going to take an obedience class come spring, hopefully that will help. All in all he has turned out to be the absolute perfect dog for my family. He filled the missing piece perfectly.

Check back frequently, as I will try to post updates as we go.
UPDATE!

Well, it's been almost a year since we got Mowgli, and let me tell you its been wonderful. He has totally filled the empty space in my family. Mowgli has had some serious health issues, we almost lost him a couple times. He has chronic Pancreantitis. The vet was doing everything he could think of... even hospitalizing him for several days, but we couldn't get it to stay calm. He'd get better for a few days and then flare up again. Finally I took him to an alternative medicine vet recommended by the local IMPS volunteers. They did some magnetic therapy for him and he hasn't had a flare up in about a month! YaY! Hopefully he will stay well. He is a wonderful snugglebug and sleeps in bed under the covers with me every night. His favorite treat is baby carrots, he loves them! We are still trying to get some weight off of him, he lost quite a bit while he was sick, but he needs to lose some more. All in all he is the best dog I could ask for! Here are some recent pictures of him, I hope you enjoy!
